As a toddler, Pastor Troy Sanders' relationship with the
divine served as the bedrock of his faith and ministry. Young
Troy displayed a divine call on his life, preaching on the front porch
of his home in Denmark, South Carolina. As he grew so did his
yearning and zeal for spiritual things, resulting in the beginning of
a ministry that would affect the lives of youth and adults.
Pastor Troy's experiences include eight years as a full-time traveling
minister; 12 years of church administration, where he created training
curriculums and modules for leadership development; lecturing; and the
development and institutionalization of a gospel choir in his hometown
of Denmark.
In 1993, Pastor Troy moved to Atlanta, Georgia. This move challenged
him both physically and spiritually, but would ultimately birth wisdom
and maturity in a boy who bore a manly call.
He graduated from Southwest DeKalb High School in 1995 with a 3.88 GPA.
In 2001, he earned a Bachelors of Arts degree from Beulah Heights Bible
College (Atlanta, GA), graduating as class valedictorian and a member
of the National Dean's List. In 1996, during his time as an undergraduate
student, Troy began the Generation of Warriors Incorporated. Generation
of Warriors was a group of youth and young adults committed to providing
holistic education and awareness to people of all ages, stages, and backgrounds.
Enriched by the mandate to be an advocate of liberation to all, Pastor
Troy is equally grateful for his ministry of music. He is currently
finishing a dual Master's of Divinity and Masters of Art degree at the
Interdenominational Theological Center (Atlanta, GA).
Pastor Troy's journey to walk in truth has prepared him for the calling
to minister words of healing and inspiration, being fully aware of the
Pauline experience of once being a persecutor now joining the honorable
ranks of those persecuted for the sake of true liberation.
Pastor Troy is part of the ministerial staff of an affirming church
in Atlanta where he uses his liturgical background to provide leadership
and oversight to the order of worship of the church. He also created
and implements a ministerial/laity leadership module to train the church
leaders how to address the countless administrative, religious, and non-religious
needs of our community.
While a great deal of his time and energy is currently given to study,
Troy is determined to not let the vision die. He has chosen to
continue to be sharpened while embarking on creating change and promoting
liberation so that he will be able to endure with effectiveness and proper
qualification.
Says Pastor Troy: " Ordinary people often do extraordinary
things. There is a need for authenticity and balance as well, to strive
to promote inspiration to all. The day for inspiration being confined to
the four walls of traditional church is certainly long gone and the glorious
light of a new day is upon us." |
